I’ve just returned from my first Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) conference in Charleston, SC, and I had a fabulous time. It was such a joy to be surrounded by like minded stitchers all coming together to rejoice in our mutual love of the craft. Here are some highlights:
Connecting with Friends
It was a pleasure to get to know fans like Rebecca Jones in person. She’s awesome! I was also thrilled to be one of many celebrating Doris Chan’s induction into the Hall of Fame by wearing one of her lovely designs. Also pictured are Marti Miller, Laurinda Reddig, and Vashti Braha. What tremendous crochet talent!
Yarn, Yarn, and More Yarn…
Attendees received a generous good of yarn on the second night of the conference, and the marketplace was filled with lots of yarn, hooks, and needles. I was fascinated by a new line of yarn from Japan (shown left). But if you want to see the only gadget I bought, check out my video on Instagram.
CGOA members delighted in covering horse drawn carriages with yarny goodness in Charleston’s historic downtown market district. I was so excited to see it while sightseeing on my last day in the city.
Next Stop… Chicago
The 2017 CGOA Chainlink conference will be held in Chicago. I’m planning to go. Will I see you there?
